The books are written by Hennie Jacobs, who became bilingual virtually overnight at the age of six as a Dutch immigrant to Montreal. An advertising copywriter, Hennie teaches English as a second language, to both business people and children, in a playful, fun, and non-threatening way.

Madeleine van der Raad
Madeleine van der Raad is a young illustrator with several children’s books to her credit, including the recently published Willewete. Naar de dierentuin. Her whimsical approach to the drawing of animals has ensured that Betty and Cat are charming, approachable characters.
